The Hadacol Bouncers - Straight from the Bottle
Check out this band new (Feb. 2018) release from the Hadacol Bouncers. It is our first studio album, recorded at Acadia Recording Co. on vintage 1950's Ampex mono recording equipment. It is as much a performance by the engineers as it is the musicians. Pure, unadulterated, New Orleans jazz - not cut, overdubbed or massaged in any way - just "Straight From the Bottle".
The Hadacol Bouncers
This is Hadacol's first recording, done in a live setting in a beautiful old church on the banks of the Kennebeck River in Phippsburg, Maine. Our engineer, Justin Maxwell, did an amazing job capturing the beautiful sound in that room, the energy of the audience and a wonderful evening of great music making.
Papa Roux: Ignore This!
Tom has long been fascinated by the music of New Orleans, especially that of Professor Longhair and other pianists like James Booker, Dr. John, Henry Butler and others. His love of this music had a big influence on this recording. The goal was to write original music that left plenty of room for improvisation, but that was based on the great variety of danceable beats and grooves of the Crescent City. The musicians on this recording had all worked together for 10+ years and the level of fun, close inter-play and high energy playing is evident in the sound.
